Our wayfinding team programmed and designed passenger information on a fast- track schedule for the new AirTrain System and its 2002 introduction of the light rail system. Tasks involved the evaluation and design of the information system for ten AirTrain stations linking passengers to Airline terminals, rental cars, parking lots and connecting stations to New York City Transit and the Long Island Rail Road.
The program required developing a new brand, a new wayfinding system and application of the new Port Authority Airport Graphic Standard and its integration with the existing wayfinding systems of the New York City Subway System and the Long Island Rail Road. At its heart is the seamless design of three separate integrated passenger information systems within a new station architecture.
