Grand Central Station combines the biggest and busiest train terminal and subway station in New York and the United States. At rush hour, travelers weave through a labyrinth of underground walkways and waiting areas enroute to their ultimate destinations. In addition to clear directional signs, the renovation of the station incorporates a spectacular floor mosaic and wall graphic murals that help orient the transit rider within this singularly attractive environment. Photographic wall murals located near stairwells celebrate significant architectural landmarks on the street above. A colorful mural of historic architectural details above the new escalator welcomes the riders.
